Knits – Knits –
Knits! When sewers talk about KNITS, they say it like a “four-letter
word”. I can’t sew knits because my seams pucker. I don’t sew knits
because the ribbing or binding doesn’t look good. I can’t…I don’t…I
won’t!
However,
knits are great warm weather fabrics. They are comfortable to wear and
easy to care for, so as sewers we all want to sew knits. Emma Seabrooke
is the lady that will solve our problems of sewing with knits.
Emma’s specialty
is knits and stretch laces. She has perfected techniques for sewing
with knits and has worked with patterns to perfect the best styles for
all sizes, but especially the well-endowed ladies. I first saw Emma
speak at the Education for the Textile Arts Symposium in Dallas
(ETA-Dallas) in 2006 and was so impressed! I followed her
recommendations and techniques, and my knit tops have turned out
beautifully.
